Figure skaters at the freestyle level are welcome to come practice their jumps, spins, and footwork during our Freestyle ice times. Skaters can also use this time to practice programs to music as well.
Because freestyle skating is open to advanced skaters practicing high-paced moves, often with exposed blades, we do not allow beginners on the ice at this time. This is a safety measure to ensure that lower-level skaters do not get hurt. Beginner figure skaters are encouraged to practice during our public skating hours and participate in our clinics in order to build on their skills.
Remember: Courtesy matters! Please be conscious of the other skaters around you while practicing. Skaters performing their program to music have the right of way. Do not skate in betweern a coach and his/her student if at all possible. Music will be played in the following order: Lesson, Non-lesson, lesson, non-lesson.
